Russia Expands Dairy Exports: 230,000 Tons in a Year

Fr om 2014 to 2024, dairy exports increased by 34%, with yogurt, cheese, ice cream, and dry dairy products being the main growth drivers. While exports of skimmed milk powder declined, shipments of dry dairy blends showed positive momentum.
The primary export destinations remain Russia’s neighboring countries — particularly Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia, wh ere there are few trade barriers. Additionally, dry dairy products were actively shipped to China, Algeria, and Egypt.
Looking ahead, Shatkova highlighted future trends: by 2030, demand for traditional dairy products in Africa is expected to grow significantly. Meanwhile, Asian markets are forecasted to show increasing interest in innovative and premium offerings — from functional beverages to exclusive cheeses. In the Middle East, experts predict rising consumption of UHT milk, yogurts, and cheese products.
