Saudi Arabia’s Livestock Exports Exceeded 8.4bn Riyals
Saudi Arabia’s livestock exports were valued at 8.416bn riyals in 2024, compared with 7.546bn riyals in 2023, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics cited by Al Watan. The annual increase was 11.53%.
Dairy products, eggs, natural honey and other edible goods of animal origin accounted for the largest share. Their combined export value reached 5.017bn riyals, up from 4.350bn riyals a year earlier, representing growth of 15.33%.
Exports of meat and edible offal increased by 29.02%, from 665.46m riyals in 2023 to 865.57m riyals in 2024. The category was among the main contributors to the overall rise in livestock exports.
Live-animal exports climbed 14.81% to 165.91m riyals, from 144.51m riyals in the preceding year. Fish, crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic products recorded a smaller increase of 5.02%, with their value moving from 619.00m riyals to 650.10m riyals.
Exports of extracts from meat, fish, crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates rose 2.12% to 378.65m riyals, compared with 370.78m riyals in 2023. Other animal products not classified elsewhere registered the fastest percentage growth, increasing 39.46% from 1.11m riyals to 1.55m riyals.
Animal hides, skins, furs and related products were the only listed category to decline. Their exports fell 4.17%, from 1.395bn riyals in 2023 to 1.337bn riyals in 2024. The figures covered the seven categories included in the livestock-export comparison.
