Saputo Divests Argentine Dairy Business to Gloria Foods for $885 Million

Saputo Inc., the Canadian dairy giant, has confirmed the sale of its Argentine dairy business to Gloria Foods, a subsidiary of Peru's Grupo Gloria, for a total of $885 million. This transaction signifies a strategic restructuring of Saputo's international assets as it aims to refine its global presence and enhance capital flexibility.

Gloria Foods will acquire Saputo's established industrial infrastructure, regional milk procurement pipelines, and local brand networks in Argentina. This acquisition positions Gloria Foods to expand its manufacturing capabilities across Latin America's primary dairy collection basins.

According to Carl Colizza, President and CEO of Saputo Inc., this divestiture is a calculated move to optimize the company's global footprint for long-term growth. The sale provides Saputo with immediate financial headroom, allowing it to reinvest in higher-growth platforms.
