Kazakhstan's Ice Cream Exports Increase by 37%
Meanwhile, export sales to Russia increased by 92%, to Kyrgyzstan by 30%, and to Uzbekistan by 50%.
However, external markets remain challenging for new players. In Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, distribution channels are limited, and access to shelf space largely depends on established relationships between manufacturers, importers, and retail operators.
In Uzbekistan, according to an assessment by Dmitry Dokin, one Kazakh manufacturer and four Russian suppliers are already operating. For new companies, entering this system may be difficult due to the closed nature of channels and a limited number of strong distributors.
In 2025, ice cream imports to Kazakhstan decreased by 5.1%, amounting to 12.2 thousand tons. Against the backdrop of increased domestic production, this reflects a shift in market structure: Kazakhstan is becoming more selective about imported products.
Ice cream shipments from Russia, however, grew by 15% to 6.5 thousand tons. Yet, the key competition is not only for volumes but also for shelf space. The market sees a confrontation between Russian and Turkish manufacturers over several strong brands.
