Agricultural trade between Russia and the UAE increased by 30% in 2024, Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev announced during a visit to the Gulfood 2025 international exhibition in Dubai. Dairynews.today reports this citing the press service of "Agroexport."

Dmitry Patrushev viewed the Russian exposition and emphasized the strategic nature of the partnership with the Gulf States in the agricultural sector. Russia is a supplier of basic food products that ensure the region's food security and is interested in further strengthening cooperation. Russian export growth to the UAE in 2024 also amounted to 30%.
In January 2025, agricultural trade between the countries doubled compared to the same period last year. Russia traditionally supplies grains, legumes, and meat (including halal products) and sees potential for expanding supplies of meat, dairy products, and soft drinks.
According to Dmitry Patrushev, the participation of Russian companies in Gulfood 2025 contributes to strengthening Russia's position as a reliable partner in the Middle East and opens up opportunities for concluding new contracts.
This year, about 150 Russian producers of grains, oil and fat products, meat, dairy products, fish, seafood, and other food products are presenting their products at the Gulfood exhibition. This marks the tenth time Russia has had an exposition at Gulfood.
From April 7 to 11, 2025, the 16th Dairy Olympics, the key event in the global dairy market, will take place in the city of Al Ain, bringing together leading global experts in the dairy industry.
