Private Label Market in MENA Retains Significant Growth Potential
According to the findings, more than 80% of consumers surveyed in the region believe that private-label products are comparable or superior to branded goods in terms of quality and value for money. The gap between the perception of private labels and their actual market share creates opportunities for retailers and food manufacturers.
The segment is gradually moving beyond low-cost products. Retail chains are expanding their ranges of premium products, health-focused foods and new categories, while simultaneously setting higher requirements for quality, safety, certification, labelling and packaging.
For dairy manufacturers, the development of private labels could become one of the channels for entering the markets of the Gulf states and other MENA countries. Working with retail chains enables manufacturers to supply products under retailers’ brands, but requires the ability to ensure consistent quality, competitive production costs and reliable supplies. Shelf life and cold-chain logistics are particularly important for fresh dairy products.
Contract manufacturing, supplier sourcing and the launch of new product lines will be discussed at Private Label Middle East 2026, which will take place at Dubai World Trade Centre on November 3–5.
