Production of Skimmed Milk Powder and Whey Increased in Russia
However, the consumption of skimmed milk powder in the first two months of the year decreased by 2.8%, totaling 152.7 thousand tons.
The most significant reduction was observed in the whole milk powder segment. Its production in January-February 2026 decreased by 33.6% year-on-year, amounting to 9.8 thousand tons. Consumption of this product decreased by 1.2%, to 104.5 thousand tons.
On the contrary, the production of dry whey showed moderate growth. During the reporting period, output increased by 2.4%, reaching 37.6 thousand tons. However, the consumption of dry whey decreased by 5.2% and amounted to 227.8 thousand tons.
Amid mixed trends in production and consumption, warehouse stocks of dry milk products significantly increased. By the beginning of March, stocks of whole milk powder at dairy processing enterprises increased by 54%, to 5.1 thousand tons.
Stocks of skimmed milk powder grew by 60%, to 15.1 thousand tons, and dry whey by 58%, to 18.1 thousand tons.
