Mossgiel Organic Dairy Expands with New Farm Partnerships in Scotland

Mossgiel Organic Dairy, a farm once associated with Robert Burns, is embarking on a significant expansion by collaborating with three farms in northern Scotland: Auchlea Farm, Wester Manbeen, and Connage Highland Dairy. These partnerships will supply milk directly to Mossgiel, boosting its capacity by more than 10% to address the rising demand for organic milk.

The dairy, known for its 'low and slow' milk processing method, employs gentle pasteurization to preserve natural qualities. In 2019, it became the first UK dairy to eliminate single-use plastic, opting for glass bottles and reusable containers.

Jill Clark of Connage Highland Dairy expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting past challenges with milk wholesalers and praising Bryce Cunningham's leadership. Allan Clarke of Auchlea Farm highlighted the importance of sustainable practices and the opportunity to maintain values through this collaboration.

Mossgiel's journey under Bryce Cunningham began in 2015, focusing on independent operations amid a large-processor dominated industry. The farm has gained multiple awards and international attention, raising over £150,000 in crowdfunding, partly through the launch of an expensive flat white coffee that offered shares in the farm.
