Kinisla's Strategic Rebranding: Navigating the Dairy Market Shifts

Kinisla, previously known as Kerry Dairy, has embarked on a strategic rebranding to enhance its position in both the consumer and dairy ingredient markets. This shift comes a year and a half after Kerry Group divested its dairy arm, allowing it to transform into a taste and nutrition-focused entity. The decision was driven by declining revenues, with 2024 seeing a double-digit fall due to price decreases, despite volume growth.

Under new ownership, Kinisla aims to leverage the inherent strengths of Irish dairy, such as its grass-fed milk credentials and sustainable heritage. The company continues to roll out its regenerative agriculture program to maintain a competitive edge. In the consumer segment, Kinisla's Strings & Things portfolio, including products like Cheestrings and Yollies, has achieved a record £130 million in retail sales value, contributing significantly to the cheese snacking category's growth.

Dairy Rally Georgia

On the ingredient side, Kinisla's performance in 2025 was satisfactory despite challenges in the commodity market. The company faces pressures from global milk production increases and unstable demand. However, its nutritional ingredients segment, particularly in demineralised whey and milk proteins, showed strong growth, driven by trends in weight management and protein demand across various applications.

The rebranding to Kinisla marks a significant shift for the company, focusing on positioning itself to capitalize on long-term market trends while addressing current market volatilities. Establishing strong relationships with manufacturers and the foodservice industry is a strategic priority to sustain performance amidst these challenges.
