Indian company Wastelink, which converts food surpluses into animal feed, has raised 27 crore rupees (approximately $3 million) in a Series A funding round. The investment was provided by Avaana Capital.

The funds raised are intended to expand Wastelink's presence in various regions of India, as well as to develop technologies and research projects.
The company was founded in 2018 and operates under the brand Forplanet Ingredients. Its proprietary technology allows for the transformation of food waste into standardized ingredients for animal feed. Since its launch, Wastelink has processed over 35,000 tons of food waste.
The main goal of the startup is to provide feed manufacturers with stable supplies of raw materials of predictable quality. This reduces the industry's dependence on traditional components such as corn and soy, whose prices and supply are subject to significant fluctuations.
