The product will be sold in the brand’s traditional brick format and made from milk and cream. The formulation uses the lactase enzyme to break down lactose. According to the company, the product contains no added preservatives, flavors, or dyes.

Development of the lactose-free version took more than two years. Kraft Heinz said the new product is intended both for consumers with lactose intolerance and for those who consciously limit their lactose consumption.

Philadelphia Lactose Free can be used in the same proportions as regular cream cheese, including in baked goods, desserts, sandwiches, sauces, and other dishes. Its retail price is expected to be in line with that of Philadelphia’s standard cream cheese in the same format.

The launch reflects the expansion of lactose-free dairy offerings in the US market. According to Boston Children’s Hospital data cited by the company, lactose intolerance affects more than 30 million people in the United States.

Kraft Heinz also noted that lactose-free products are becoming one of the growing segments of the dairy category. According to an industry forecast cited in the press release, the global lactose-free dairy market could approach $28 billion by 2033.

Kraft Heinz operates in more than 40 countries. The company’s net sales amounted to approximately $25 billion in 2025.
