Fi South America 2026 Attracts Global Ingredient Leaders
The Fi South America 2026 (FiSA) is poised to become the largest gathering for the ingredient sector in South America. Taking place from August 4 to August 6, 2026, at the São Paulo Expo, the event is organized by Informa Markets Brasil and anticipates welcoming over 12,000 participants and more than 290 exhibitors from both national and international origins.
Companies from 15 countries, including China, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, India, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Turkey, the United States, and Vietnam, are expected to showcase their offerings. This international presence is part of the broader Fi Global network, which encompasses events like Fi Europe, Fi Asia, Fi North America, and Fi India. According to the organizers, this network facilitates the introduction of scientific innovations and trends into Brazil before they reach the commercial market.
Marina Cappi, the fair's manager, highlighted a shift in how ingredients are perceived within the food and beverage industries. They are now seen as strategic components in developing healthier, functional, and sustainable products. The fair aims to connect developers, suppliers, and decision-makers, providing Latin American industries with global solutions tailored to regional realities.
The Brazilian Food Industry Association (ABIA) reported that the sector concluded 2025 with revenues of R$ 1.388 trillion, marking an 8.02% increase from the previous year and accounting for 10.9% of the national GDP. Predictions for 2026 suggest a growth of 2% to 2.5% in real sales, driven by domestic demand, a gradual recovery in the international market, and ongoing investments in innovation and industrial modernization.
The FiSA program includes 27 hours of technical content, with a central feature being the Summit Future of Nutrition. In 2026, the summit will focus on the theme “Science, Regulation and Impact – Global Trends Shaping the Disruption of the Ingredient Sector.” The congress will explore four main pillars: new consumer profiles and product reformulation in the GLP-1 medication era, regulation as a strategy for innovation and market access, applied technologies such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology, and functional and personalized nutrition.
Further, the event will host a New Product Zone showcasing innovations and finalists of the Fi Innovation Awards. The Innovation Hub will feature the Innovation Tour, Tasting Experience, and Sustainability Experience, focusing on sustainable sector transformation. Other highlights include the Spot Regulatório, in partnership with Regularium, for updates on supplement and ingredient regulations, and the Women’s Networking Meeting for industry professionals.
Tickets for the public are available, with a 'solidarity entry' option offering a 50% discount for those donating 1 kg of non-perishable food, which will be given to the Safrater institution. The event operates from 1 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 1 PM to 6 PM on Thursday, at the São Paulo Expo, located at Rodovia dos Imigrantes, km 1.5, Vila Água Funda, São Paulo.
