In 2022, 462 million tons of milk were processed worldwide

In 2022, the volume of raw milk processing amounted to 462 million tons, which is 0.1% less than 2021. Laurent Damien, executive director of the analytical agency CNIEL, told The DairyNews correspondent about this during the World Dairy Summit, held in Chicago from October 15 to 19.

Until 2022, the world saw a steady increase in milk processing. Over the past 7 years, annual growth has been 0.9%.
In 2022, Spain, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Turkey, Ukraine, Brazil and Chile have reduced milk processing.
Significant growth in processing, exceeding 3%, was shown by Russia, China, and Mexico.
