US Dairy Cracks Asian Market: Landmark Taiwan MOU Secures Growth

The U.S. dairy industry has achieved a significant milestone by signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Taiwan, marking a key step in global market expansion. This agreement formalizes deeper collaboration between the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC), the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), and the Dairy Association of Taiwan (DAT). The move highlights a commitment to enhancing the existing dairy partnership between the U.S. and Taiwan, essential for stable international dairy trade.
The MOU aims to drive trade volume and protect the quality and integrity of dairy products internationally. Beyond commercial objectives, the agreement seeks to bolster cooperation in areas such as dairy nutrition benefits and strategic trade enhancement, uncovering new business opportunities for both countries.
USDEC President and CEO Krysta Harden describes the MOU as a significant step towards expanding U.S. dairy presence in Taiwan, recognized as "one of the most dynamic markets in Asia." Meanwhile, NMPF President and CEO Gregg Doud underscores the commercial urgency of the partnership, as Taiwan's demand for high-quality imported products is increasing.
The agreement, signed in Taipei during a USDA-led trade mission, signifies the industry's commitment to fostering a sustainable future for the U.S. dairy sector. By expanding their global network, USDEC and NMPF are paving the way for future collaborations that aim to strengthen economic ties and improve health outcomes for consumers worldwide.
