Butter Production in Russia Increases by 2% While Consumption Declines

Despite the increase in production, butter consumption from January to August 2025 decreased by 8.8%, down to 276.2 thousand tons. The drop in demand has led to a sharp increase in warehouse stocks: by early October 2025, they reached 30 thousand tons, which is 99% more than a year earlier.

The increase in warehouse stocks indicates an imbalance between production and the market, which could affect price dynamics by the end of the year.

The margarine and spreads segment shows moderate growth. From January to September 2025, their production increased by 0.4%, reaching 438.5 thousand tons.
Consumption from January to August increased by 4.6%, to 288.9 thousand tons, contrasting with the dynamics of butter.

In contrast, stocks in this category decreased by 45% by early October, to 7.9 thousand tons, indicating a more stable demand and market balance.
