According to the results of the first quarter of 2025, Georgia recorded a decrease in the production volumes of key livestock products. Milk production declined by 3.4%, totaling 108.5 million liters.

As of the end of March, the cattle population stood at 861,100 head, marking a 4.9% decrease compared to the same period last year. This includes a 4.3% drop in the number of cows and buffaloes, which amounted to 396,300 head.
The reduction in livestock numbers also led to lower production volumes. Meat production over the three-month period fell by 6.4%, reaching 17,500 tonnes.
Despite the overall decline in domestic indicators, Georgia’s cattle exports showed strong growth. From January to March, the country exported 21,300 head, three times more than during the same period in 2024. Imports, on the other hand, dropped by 64%, amounting to only 2,700 head.
