Milk Prices in Brazil Continue to Rise Amid Market Demand

In late February, the spot milk price in Brazil rose by R$ 0.20 to reach R$ 3.17 per liter, driven by reduced supply and increased demand for UHT milk.

According to MilkPoint Mercado, the spot milk price in the second half of February increased to R$ 3.17 per liter (US$ 0.55), marking a R$ 0.20 increase fr om the previous fortnight wh ere prices averaged R$ 2.97 across Brazil.
This price hike occurred as significant positive adjustments in spot milk negotiations were seen across all monitored states, attributed to the seasonal decrease in milk supply and the rising prices of derivatives such as UHT milk.
As a result, even with the increased prices, the volume of purchases grew during this period, indicating strong buyer demand. The situation reflects a market responding to both diminished supply and increased demand pressures.
