The dairy processor acknowledged the resilience of global dairy demand but highlighted the pressures from ongoing US tariff actions affecting the competitiveness of European export prices compared to the US and New Zealand. Coinciding with this announcement, Tánaiste Simon Harris traveled to Brussels to engage in discussions with European Trade Commissioner Maros Sefčovic and EU Trade Ministers, addressing the evolving trade relations with the US.
These talks aim to find a balanced and mutually acceptable solution and to consider the EU's list of potential countermeasures if negotiations falter. Ireland seeks to mitigate adverse impacts on its economy during these negotiations.
