Milk and Cream Imports to Georgia Increase by 36% in 2025 — Azerbaijan and Russia Lead

In 2025, Georgia imported 19.6 thousand tons of milk and cream worth $22.7 million. The previous year, the purchase volume was 14.7 thousand tons at $16.6 million, indicating simultaneous growth in both physical and value indicators of imports.

The largest supplier of milk and cream to the Georgian market remains Azerbaijan, from which about 6 thousand tons of products worth approximately $5 million were imported in 2025. Russia took second place among exporters, supplying 3.2 thousand tons of milk and cream for $4 million. Poland ranked third with 3.3 thousand tons at $3.5 million.

France and Belarus also entered the top five largest milk and cream exporting countries to Georgia.

Despite the increase in imports, Georgia maintains a significant volume of domestic production. On average, the country produces more than 500 thousand tons of milk per year, part of which is used for dairy production. Meanwhile, in 2025, milk prices on the domestic market increased by an average of 4%, which may have also influenced the expansion of import supplies.
