The Global Dairy Trade (GDT) platform recorded a notable rise in dairy product prices at the beginning of February, with the GDT price index increasing by 3.7%. The weighted average indicative price reached $4,296 per metric ton, Dairynews.today reports.

  • Whole Milk Powder (WMP): +4.1%, to $4,169/MT
  • Skim Milk Powder (SMP): +4.7%, to $2,835/MT
  • Butter: +3.4%, to $7,222/MT
  • Anhydrous Milk Fat (AMF): +2.4%, to $6,766/MT
  • Cheddar Cheese: +3.7%, to $5,025/MT
  • Lactose: +17.7%, to $1,050/MT

Year-on-Year Price Gains Across Key Dairy Categories

Compared to the same period last year, prices for key dairy products have experienced significant growth:

  • Butter: +10.8%
  • Whole Milk Powder: +20.4%
  • Cheddar Cheese: +12.4%
  • Skim Milk Powder: +2.8%

The latest price surge reflects sustained demand for dairy commodities, driven by strong global market fundamentals and supply constraints in key producing regions. Market analysts will closely monitor whether this upward momentum continues in the coming months.
