Belarus to Produce a Record 9 Million Tons of Milk in 2025
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, significant growth is ensured through extensive infrastructure upgrades and the transition of dairy herds to modern maintenance technologies. The average milk yield per cow in the country will reach 6,500 kg for the first time, confirming the industry's steady growth in efficiency across all regions.
Yuri Shuleyko emphasized that building and modernizing dairy complexes remain key priorities:
-
About 80 dairy farms will be commissioned or reconstructed in the country by 2025.
-
A total of about 300 dairy complexes are planned to be built or updated by 2030.
-
Currently, there are approximately 1,700 farms in Belarus, and this number will continue to grow.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that a systematic approach to modernization, digital herd management, an improved feed base, and new animal welfare standards have become the foundation for rapid productivity growth.
Dairy farming remains one of the key segments of Belarus's agro-industrial complex. The record production volume will allow:
-
to strengthen the country's export positions in traditional markets (Russia, China, CIS countries),
-
to expand the range of high-tech dairy products,
-
to increase the economic return from the dairy sector.
