Belarus Increases Milk Production to Over 9 Million Tons Annually
Domestic consumption of milk and dairy products in Belarus remains high, at about 247 kg per person per year. The industry's strategic focus is shifting not only towards increasing volumes but also towards developing advanced processing.
All raw milk produced in the country is processed domestically. Belarus is gradually moving away from exporting raw materials and is focusing on high value-added products that are in demand in foreign markets.
The production of dairy ingredients is one of the directions being pursued. Companies in the country are already producing whey protein concentrate. In the coming years, facilities for producing milk protein concentrate—a key ingredient in sports nutrition, pharmaceuticals, and infant formulas—are planned to be established.
In the future, Belarusian enterprises may also start producing hydrolysate and lactoferrin. These products belong to the premium segment of dairy processing and allow producers to enter more profitable market niches.
