Ananda Dairy Launches Advanced Cattle Feed to Boost Milk Quality
Ananda Dairy, a prominent player in the Indian dairy industry, has introduced its new 3G, 5G, and 8G cattle feed series. This development signifies Ananda's strategic move towards vertical integration in the dairy sector. The scientifically formulated feeds are designed to improve milk quality at the source, addressing the volatility in raw material costs.
The company, based in Uttar Pradesh, aims to standardize the nutritional input of cattle feed, which is a significant cost factor in milk production, constituting nearly 70% of costs. Ananda's feed series offers tailored nutrition solutions for different bovine breeds and lactation cycles, reflecting an industry-wide shift towards precision livestock farming.
Under the leadership of Chairman Dr. Radhey Shyam Dixit and Director Rahul Dixit, Ananda is transforming from a milk processor into a comprehensive dairy solutions provider. This transition is crucial for achieving their goal of a ₹10,000 crore turnover by 2030. By managing nutritional inputs, Ananda can better control the fat and Solid-Not-Fat (SNF) content in its milk, essential for its high-margin products like ghee and paneer.
The Indian cattle feed market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.2% through 2032, driven by the professionalization of dairy farming. For companies like Ananda, producing feed in-house helps foster loyalty among farmers while optimizing milk yields by 10% to 15% without increasing herd sizes. This is particularly important in resource-constrained regions of Northern India.
Industry experts note that this move marks a shift in competition from retail shelves to village collection centers. Ananda’s strategy serves to secure its supply chain and enhance farmer productivity, contributing to the formalization of the Indian dairy sector.
