Ananda Dairy Expands Portfolio and Geographic Reach in India
Ananda Dairy is preparing for significant growth by expanding its product portfolio and increasing its market presence across India. The company currently procures over 10 lakh litres of milk daily, sourced from more than three lakh farmers through a network of over 6,000 village collection centres. This milk is processed at five plants located in Pilkhuwa, Siyana, Gajraula, Varanasi, and Raebareli, which together have an installed handling capacity of around 18 lakh litres per day.
Ananda's expansion strategy focuses on a broad-based portfolio rather than concentrating on one or two premium segments. The company's product line now includes UHT milk, flavoured milk, milkshakes, paneer spreads, butter variants, and A2 milk, alongside traditional products such as dahi, paneer, ghee, and sweets. Additionally, Ananda has ventured into complementary categories like frozen peas, soya chaap, tofu, idli–dosa batter, sweet corn, and mustard oil.
The company's distribution strategy is equally robust, involving over 5,000 distributors and reaching approximately 1.5 lakh kirana stores, as well as a selective presence in modern retail. Ananda's current footprint covers over 100 cities in 15 states, extending beyond its traditional base in western Uttar Pradesh.
Financially, Ananda Dairy reported a turnover of approximately ₹1,700 crore for FY 2023–24 and aims to achieve ₹10,000 crore by 2030. This ambitious goal will require increased milk throughput, successful scaling of value-added products, deeper geographical penetration, and tighter cost control.
To support its growth, Ananda invests in farmer-facing programs, such as training initiatives and veterinary camps, which serve as supply security mechanisms amid rising competition for milk procurement.
