270 companies on the new Dairy Farm Tech Map 4.0, a new record
Last week Progressive Dairy and IFCN Dairy Research Network launched the new dairy farm tech map 4.0 with over 270 different companies on it.
This marks a growth of 46 companies to the version 1.0 which Walt C. and I developed initially. Thanks Muzaffar Yunusov and Walt to run this excellent webinar last week.
Here are the key insights from my view:
1. THREE SIZE CATEGORIES: Most companies (129) are startups touching so far less then > 0,1 mill cows. In the other categories 0,1-1 mill cows and > 1 mill cows there are roughly 70 companies each.

Details to point 1 from Walt: Computer vision cameras with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities emerged as the most frequently mentioned technology. Respondents highlighted applications for monitoring cow locomotion, facial recognition for cow identification and general herd observation – suggesting producers see significant value in automated visual monitoring systems.
