Terry Patcheak, Vice President of R&D, Sustainability, and Project Management, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative: "We are thrilled to unveil the Bottles of the Year program, which celebrates excellence in packaging design. Our designers continually explore new possibilities in packaging, and this program allows us to showcase their innovative efforts."
The program is designed to recognize outstanding packaging designs that align with contemporary consumer preferences across various segments including beverages, spirits & wine, food & dairy, home & personal care, and healthcare. Amcor aims to provide inspiration and practical solutions through these designs, emphasizing the importance of elegant, thoughtful, and sustainable packaging.
Each year, Amcor will select five bottle designs that demonstrate innovative features and readiness for commercialization. These designs reflect key consumer trends such as empowerment, simplification, value, identity, and connection, offering brands unique packaging opportunities. For instance, the beverage segment will feature a new rib-less bottle enabled by Amcor's PowerPost technology, suitable for hot fill processes. Additionally, the spirits & wine segment introduces a 375 ml bottle in a Nordic shape, utilizing Quantum technology and designed for easy distribution in multipacks due to a novel inner-locking feature.
Through the Bottles of the Year program, Amcor reinforces its commitment to pushing the boundaries of responsible and consumer-focused packaging design.
