Alltech India Launches New Facilities to Enhance Dairy Nutrition and Sustainability
On January 15, Alltech India officially opened its new Nutrition Service Laboratory and Bolus Manufacturing Plant at its production site in Pune. This expansion is designed to bolster the country’s dairy industry by providing advanced nutritional analysis and precision-formulated bolus solutions.
The new facilities will enable Indian dairy farmers, feed manufacturers, and integrators to make better-informed decisions. This development aligns with the current transformation in India's dairy sector, characterized by rising productivity demands and sustainability concerns.
Enhancing Dairy Nutrition
The Nutrition Service Laboratory is equipped to deliver advanced feed and forage analysis. This supports balanced ration formulation, improving herd performance, and addressing challenges such as feed efficiency optimization, milk yield improvement, and reduction of metabolic disorders. These capabilities are crucial for maintaining profitability amidst fluctuating milk procurement prices.
Bolus Plant Capabilities
The bolus plant enhances Alltech India's capacity to produce high-quality bolus solutions tailored for Indian livestock conditions. These solutions are crucial for mineral supplementation, transition cow management, fertility support, and metabolic health, contributing to sustained productivity and better herd health outcomes.
Supporting Sustainable Dairy Growth
The Pune facility will serve as a technical backbone for Alltech’s operations in India. It will enable collaborations with dairy cooperatives, private dairies, and feed manufacturers, strengthening quality control and innovation within the supply chain. As investments in laboratory infrastructure become central to dairy market growth, Alltech's initiative is timely, given the increased demand for value-added dairy products and improved feed efficiency.
This expansion reflects a broader commitment to green dairy practices and evidence-based livestock management. As India’s dairy policy increasingly focuses on sustainability and farmer profitability, such science-backed infrastructure plays a crucial role in shaping the sector's growth.
