Argentina increased dairy exports 20.4% to $987m in seven months
Argentina exported dairy products worth $987m in the first seven months of 2026, a 20.4% increase from the corresponding period, according to information cited by Bichos de Campo. The reported results covered the country’s international dairy sales during the period.
Brazil, Algeria, Chile and China ranked as the main destinations when measured by the volume of products shipped. The export figures showed that a larger share of Argentina’s dairy production was sold abroad during the seven-month period.
Exports amounted to 1.835bn litres in milk equivalent. That volume represented approximately 29% of total production, meaning that nearly three of every ten litres produced were directed to overseas markets.
The remaining 4.986bn litres in milk equivalent were allocated to the domestic market. Official information cited in the report indicated that internal consumption rose by 4% year on year in the first seven months.
The increase in foreign sales therefore occurred during a period in which domestic dairy consumption also recorded growth. The figures for production allocation distinguish between the volume sent abroad and the volume retained for local demand.
The export performance coincided with restructuring and financial difficulties at several Argentine dairy companies. The report identified Lácteos Verónica, ARSA, Sudamericana de Lácteos and SanCor among the businesses that had faced different problems in recent months.
The latest ranking from the Observatorio de la Cadena Láctea Argentina, or OCLA, also recorded changes in industrial milk reception. Some established companies moved down the ranking or no longer appeared among the leading processors. The report described the export results alongside these changes in the structure of the dairy industry.
