Calon Wen Marks 25 Years with Branding Refresh and Ice Cream Launch

Founded in 2000 by four farmers, Carmarthenshire-based Calon Wen has grown into a prominent force in the UK’s organic market, with an annual turnover of approximately £14 million. Today, the cooperative includes 25 organic dairy farmers from across Wales, producing over 20 million litres of milk annually.
The celebration of its 25th anniversary featured the unveiling of new branding and the launch of Calon Wen Organic Dairy Ice Cream. The company’s popular dairy products, such as Calon Wen-branded milk, butter, and cheese, are already staples in shops across England and Wales.
The new branding includes bold colors and imagery of green fields but retains key elements like the ‘Moula the Cow’ icon. Managing Director Dai Miles expressed, "As we look to the future of Calon Wen, we want our branding to reflect this evolution."
In collaboration with Mario’s Ice Cream, just a few miles away, Calon Wen has introduced three ice cream flavors: Vanilla, Strawberries & Cream, and Honeycomb & Honey Swirl. "Adding ice cream to our brand portfolio will provide another outlet for our farmers and enhance our position in the organic marketplace," said Miles.
Visitors to the Royal Welsh Show from 21 to 24 July will be among the first to taste the new product, marking a new chapter for the cooperative and its members.
