In 2024, the volume of butter production in Kazakhstan increased by 4.7% compared to 2023

At the same time, export shipments saw a significant surge – exports increased by 2.3 times, from 1.7 thousand tons in 2023 to 4.2 thousand tons in 2024. Kazakh butter was shipped to Russia, Turkmenistan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan.
Meanwhile, imports of butter declined by 28.8% and totaled over 6.5 thousand tons in 2024, resulting in imported products accounting for 16.7% of the domestic market. Imported butter came from countries such as France, Iran, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Finland, Lithuania, Poland, Pakistan, and Turkey.
Over the 12-month period in 2024, 34.8 thousand tons of butter were sold on the domestic market. Additionally, on an annual basis, butter prices increased by 13%. In January 2025, the average price in Kazakhstan reached 4,471 tenge per kilogram, with the highest price recorded in Aktau at 6,298 tenge per kilogram and the lowest in the city of Turkestan at 3,796 tenge per kilogram.
