Transitioning Forward: A Farewell to Dairy Australia
Sourse: DairyNews.today

My time as Managing Director has come to a really satisfying end at Dairy Australia. The dairy industry is one of Australia’s greatest industries, full of amazing and talented people. It is a quiet achiever that is really deeply trusted by the community. I’ve had the good fortune to work with so many good people and see the industry in times of great buoyancy as well as great despair.
Droughts and floods are affecting large numbers of farmers (again!) and the resilience and cash reserves of many businesses are really being tested. It’s an important time for the community and for government to continue supporting such an important industry. Every purchase of an Australian dairy product helps the industry at this time. There are lots of things that are maturing quickly that Dairy Australia has played an important role in - from dairy genetics to feeding cows to farm businesses to people and then all the way through to markets.
Trust in the industry has grown to be really high, dairy consumption and its health benefits are well recognised and our products are so well regarded in all our major export markets. We are well on our way as an industry to reducing emissions, increasing income from livestock and telling the great story we have to tell about sustainability. I’d like to thank everyone who I’ve had the chance to work with in this role - across all the parts of Dairy Australia, across the dairy industry, and across the wider food and fibre sectors and governments.
We’ve achieved so much more together than we ever could have alone. I’m really excited about what comes next for me and how I will stay involved in the dairy industry and the food and fibre sector in a different way.
