The Global Dairy Summit Begins in Santiago de Chile

The World Dairy Summit 2025, organized by the International Dairy Federation (IDF-FIL), officially commences on Monday, October 20, in Santiago de Chile, marking the first time this significant global dairy event is held in South America. The summit is operating under the theme "Nourishing a Sustainable World," and features an opening ceremony with notable figures such as Sergio Niklitschek, President of the Organizing Committee; Gilles Froment, IDF-FIL President; Thanawat Tiensin, Assistant Director of the FAO; and Ignacia Fernández, Agriculture Minister of Chile.
The day's agenda includes a tour of various stands and the World Leaders Forum, featuring Antonia Wanner from Nestlé, Gloria Group’s CEO Claudio Rodríguez Huaco, and New Zealand's Minister of Biosecurity and Food Safety Andrew Hoggard. Additionally, the World Dairy Situation session will explore global dairy industry insights presented by experts like Octavio Oltra (Chile), Jean Marc Chaumet (France), Hubertus Gay (OECD), and Jean Christophe Salles, Regional CEO of IPSOS.
A meeting on advancing the Dairy Sustainability Declaration, a joint initiative by IDF-FIL and the FAO launched at the 2025 World Dairy Summit in Paris, will discuss the dairy sector's commitment to an environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable transition.
This historic event for Chile and South America is set to be a milestone for the global dairy community’s sustainable development efforts.
