The chair of DairyNZ has been re-elected

In the aftermath of the board elections and the annual general meeting this month, the DairyNZ board convened to adhere to standard procedures and select the chair.

The DairyNZ board consists of five farmer-elected directors and three board-appointed directors. Jim van der Poel, re-elected to the board for another three-year term, was chosen as the chair during this process. Cameron Henderson, a South Island farmer, succeeded Colin Glass, who retired, filling one of the elected director positions.

Residing in Ngahinapouri, Jim van der Poel and his wife Sue are involved in farming ventures across Waikato, Southland, Canterbury, and the US. His extensive experience includes prior service on Fonterra's board, being an inaugural director on the Fonterra Shareholders Fund, and receiving several industry accolades such as the AC Cameron Award, 2002 Nuffield Scholarship, Sharemilker of the Year, and Dairy Exporter Primary Performer Award.
