Tetra Pak Reports Significant Emission Reductions and Sustainability Initiatives
Tetra Pak has published its FY25 Sustainability Report, coinciding with World Environment Day, highlighting significant strides in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The company reported a 34% decrease in emissions across its value chain since 2019, which is an improvement of nearly 12 percentage points from the previous year. Additionally, Tetra Pak achieved a 56% reduction in emissions from its own operations and reached 97% consumption of renewable energy.
In 2025, Tetra Pak implemented an integrated climate and nature risk and opportunity assessment. This initiative aims to pinpoint priority risks and opportunities throughout its operations and value chain. The report also introduced Tetra Pak Factory OS, a digital and automation ecosystem designed to enhance operational efficiency for food and beverage manufacturers, helping them reduce energy and material usage.
Tetra Pak expanded its global innovation network with new centers in France, Thailand, and Sweden. The company invested €100 million in packaging research and development, focusing on innovations like a paper barrier for juice packages that boast a 43% lower carbon footprint compared to traditional aseptic cartons with aluminum layers.
Efforts in ecosystem restoration have seen over 1,600 hectares added to the Araucaria Conservation Project in 2025. Tetra Pak's school feeding programs have expanded, now reaching 68 million children across 52 countries, marking an increase from the previous year.
