Telangana Suspends Licenses of Two Dairy Units for Safety Violations

The Telangana Food Safety Department has taken significant action against two dairy units in the Sangareddy district following inspections conducted on July 7 and 8. Officials suspended the food business licenses of M/s Saraswathi Dairy Products India Private Limited and Divya Enterprises after discovering substantial food safety and labeling violations.

During the inspections, 3,800 kg of cream worth approximately ₹9.22 lakh was confiscated. The department identified misbranded dairy products, including Keston Curd and Divya Curds, with Keston Paneer found to be carrying misleading claims.

Further investigations uncovered the use of expired laboratory reagents and chemicals for food testing, raising serious concerns about quality control processes. Additional infractions included poor hygiene and sanitation, inadequate record maintenance, improper storage, and pest infestations at the facilities.

Samples of milk, curd, and paneer were collected from both units and have been sent for laboratory analysis. The department stated that further actions will be based on the results of these tests.

The inspections and subsequent actions reflect the department's commitment to ensuring food safety and maintaining public health standards.
