Tasty Dairy Specialities Reports a First-Quarter Loss
Tasty Dairy Specialities recorded a loss in the June 2026 quarter as lower processing volumes and weaker regional demand constrained revenue. The company’s total revenue declined by 18.08% from the Rs 16.98 crore reported for the three months ended March 2026.
The company’s net loss narrowed modestly from Rs 0.36 crore in the preceding quarter. Its operating profit before tax and exceptional items remained negative at Rs 0.33 crore, indicating that the business did not generate a positive result on that measure during the period.
Total expenses were Rs 14.24 crore in the June 2026 quarter. That figure compared with Rs 24.80 crore in the same quarter of 2025 and Rs 17.34 crore in the March 2026 quarter. Operating costs decreased alongside the reduction in sales volumes, but fixed overheads continued to affect profitability.
The company said that reduced fluid-processing volumes limited its ability to recover revenue. Demand also softened for value-added dairy products in the regional markets it serves. The combination of lower sales and continuing fixed costs contributed to the negative operating result.
Based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Tasty Dairy Specialities manufactures and distributes liquid milk, skimmed milk powder, butter, ghee, peda and paneer. Its products are sold under brands including Verifil and UAMM.
The company operates in one of India’s largest milk-producing regions. It faces competition from organised cooperatives and unorganised traders, while raw-milk procurement costs remain a factor for manufacturers. High local payments required to secure supplies of raw milk have reduced processing margins for non-integrated dairy businesses in the region.
