A renowned dairy company, Pure Dairy Herd, has proposed the creation of a livestock training academy in Taraba State. This initiative aims to enhance livestock education and attract investments in the region, supported by the state government and international partners.

Taraba State is set to advance its livestock sector with a proposal fr om Pure Dairy Herd to establish a world-class livestock training academy. The announcement was made during a visit by the Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, and representatives from Pure Dairy Herd to Governor Agbu Kefas in Jalingo.

The academy aims to provide structured education in livestock farming, moving away from traditional methods that lim it productivity. The proposed curriculum will integrate theoretical instruction with practical training, covering areas such as feed production, disease control, breeding, milking, and hygienic handling.

Taraba was chosen for this project due to its agricultural potential, particularly the Mambilla Plateau, known for its cattle population and fertile land. A technical team is expected to conduct site assessments soon, marking the first phase of engagement.

Governor Kefas expressed his administration's commitment to attracting investments in the livestock sector, aligning with President Bola Tinubu's reforms and the establishment of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development. He assured a peaceful environment for the investors and highlighted the state's capability to meet national livestock demands.

With this initiative, Taraba aims to become a hub for livestock education and agribusiness, boosting skills development and attracting more investment into the sector.
