Türkiye Approves Lithuanian Firms for Dairy and Fish Exports
This week, Türkiye officially added 17 Lithuanian companies to its list of approved exporters, enabling them to supply dairy and fishery products to the Turkish market. This development follows the companies' adherence to the newly introduced import requirements, effective from January 1, 2026, which encompass dairy, fishery, gelatine, and collagen products.
These Lithuanian firms underwent a comprehensive process that involved submitting required documentation and passing inspections by veterinary experts to meet Turkish regulatory standards. The director of the Lithuanian State Food and Veterinary Service (VMVT), Audronė Mikalauskienė, commended the companies for their swift response and high level of professionalism in adapting to the new market conditions.
The updated Turkish register also includes four companies from Estonia and 15 from Latvia. This change is seen as a strategic move to enhance the international competitiveness of these countries' food sectors, particularly in the dairy and fishery industries.
Türkiye's new import regulations are part of a broader strategy to standardize and ensure the quality of imported food products, a significant consideration for trading partners aiming to access the Turkish market.
