Russia Implants Brain Chips: The Future of Milk Yields?

The dairy industry is on the cusp of a technological revolution as Russian technology startup Neiry has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative to augment milk production through neuro-stimulation. The technique involves surgically implanting brain devices into dairy cattle to stimulate regions controlling hunger, fertility, and stress through electrical impulses. First trialed in the Sverdlovsk region, five cows underwent this new procedure and reportedly resumed milking shortly after without complications.

Although comprehensive data is yet to be published, Neiry's initial findings suggest significant improvements in milk yield, sparking interest among investors who view this as a critical development in overcoming existing dairy farming limitations. However, the project has faced criticism from agricultural activists who highlight potential risks and high costs associated with such an invasive technology, questioning its widespread commercial viability.

Neiry aims to refine the technology further before launching it commercially, keen on bridging the research-implementation gap in agribusiness.
