Russian Agricultural Sector Missed Over 100 Billion Rubles in Profit in 2025 Amid Production Growth
According to him, the key issue remains the price imbalance — the so-called "scissors," where the cost of agricultural products increases significantly slower than the costs for resources, including equipment, energy, and material-technical supplies. As a result, despite record production figures, the profitability of farmers continues to decline.
Alexey Gordeev emphasized that the drop in profitability was particularly sensitive for basic categories, including grains and milk. He noted that the current regulatory model effectively pressures producers by holding down prices on final products without considering the entire cost formation chain.
As a solution, it is proposed to implement systematic monitoring of prices for agricultural products and resources, followed by the formation of an economically justified price balance. According to Alexey Gordeev, this measure should become part of state policy and ensure the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
