Purabi Dairy's impressive Rs 320 crore turnover marks a significant achievement for Assam's dairy sector, with a plan to expand its geographic reach and support local farmers through cooperative initiatives.

Purabi Dairy has achieved a noteworthy milestone by surpassing a turnover of Rs 320 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25. This development comes as part of a broader strategy to enhance Assam's dairy sector through cooperative initiatives.
Satya Brata Bose, Managing Director of North East Dairy & Foods Limited (NEDFL), highlighted the plan's long-term vision and the collaborative efforts with organizations like WAMUL and EAMUL to create a pan-Assam dairy cooperative movement. Bose stated, "While organizations like WAMUL and EAMUL focus on specific regions such as West and East Assam, NEDFL has a pan-Assam vision.
" He further detailed the synergy of technical expertise from the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and government support, ensuring greater returns for farmers and year-round access to quality dairy products for consumers. NEDFL is poised to extend its operations into the Barak Valley, beginning with a facility in Silchar. This initiative, supported by Assam's Chief Minister and NDDB Chairman, aims to manage 10 lakh litres of milk daily by 2030. Emphasizing market expansion and infrastructure development, NEDFL aims to make Purabi a leading brand in Northeast India's dairy industry.
