Food Production in Kazakhstan Increases by 11.9% Exceeding 665 Billion Tenge
In Kazakhstan, as of January-February 2026, the volume of food production reached 665.1 billion tenge, increasing by 11.9% year-on-year. This figure significantly surpassed the forecasted growth rate of 4.3%, reports Dairynews.today citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Positive dynamics were observed in almost all major product categories.
The highest growth rates were demonstrated by:
- butter — +56.5% (up to 8.1 thousand tons),
- cheese and cottage cheese — +39.2%,
- chocolate and sugar confectionery — +21.4%,
- cereals — +20.8%.
Production also increased in:
- canned meat — +12.9%,
- vegetable oil — +12.3%,
- processed vegetables and fruits — +13.4%,
- flour — +11.9%,
- pasta products — +8.1%.
In the dairy sector, growth was mixed:
- processed milk — +1.6%,
- fermented dairy products — +3.5%,
- cheese and cottage cheese — +39.2%,
- butter — +56.5%.
Beverage production increased by 10.2%, reaching 175.4 billion tenge. Additionally, the production of non-alcoholic beverages in physical terms rose by 43.7% to 564.3 million liters.
