Sales of Russian agricultural machinery on the domestic market in January 2026 decreased by 42.3% compared to the same period last year — from 9 billion to 5.2 billion rubles (including VAT). These figures are presented in a review by the association 'Rosspetsmash'.
Sales of Russian Agricultural Machinery in January Dropped by 42%, Exports Decreased by Almost a Third

The decline in sales occurs against the backdrop of a continuing market downturn: according to the association, the domestic market for agricultural machinery in Russia has been shrinking for the third consecutive year.

Simultaneously, exports also decreased. In January 2026, the export of Russian agricultural machinery fell by 29.4% — from 1.2 billion to 0.9 billion rubles (including VAT).

The decline was recorded across almost the entire range of equipment. On the domestic market, sales of grain harvesters decreased by 20.2% — from 99 units in January 2025 to 79 units in January 2026. Deliveries of agricultural tractors decreased by 28.5% — from 172 to 123 machines.

A decline was also noted in the soil cultivation equipment segment. Sales of plows decreased by 21.4% — to 66 units, cultivators by 19.8% (to 73 units), harrows by 44% (to 107 units), seeders by 2.6 times, to 76 units.

An even sharper decline was recorded in certain categories of equipment. For example, sales of fertilizer spreaders decreased by 6.5 times — to four units, sprayers by 6.3 times (to 11 units), mowers by 2.6 times (to 72 units), headers by 3.4 times (to 11 units). Deliveries of balers decreased by 6.9 times — to 18 units, grain cleaning machines by 4.4 times, to eight units.

Industry representatives suggest that the decline in sales may stabilize over the year, but they predict a challenging market situation.

By the end of 2025, the shipment of Russian agricultural machinery to the domestic market had already decreased by 21.1% compared to the previous year — to 155.1 billion rubles including VAT. Exports for the same period decreased by 13.3% and amounted to 15.6 billion rubles excluding VAT.

The only category of equipment that showed growth in 2025 was fertilizer spreaders, with deliveries increasing by 44%, to 384 units.

The decline in machinery sales has been ongoing since 2024. At that time, shipments decreased by 17.6% — to 198.4 billion rubles including VAT. According to analysts from 'Rosspetsmash', the key factors in the decline remain the high key interest rate of the Central Bank of Russia, limited access to credit for farmers, rising production costs, and insufficient government support for the industry.
