Paul Turner normally drives a tanker collecting milk from farms across the Isle of Man for Isle of Man Creamery. For the fundraising challenge, he travelled on foot to every dairy farm supplying the creamery, covering a total of 102 miles.

The walk began on August 4, when Turner left the creamery at 7am to follow the southern route. He spent more than 15 hours on the road and finished the day at Southampton Farm, the 15th and final farm on that section. The Collister family was there to support him when he arrived.

Turner continued the challenge on August 8 by taking the northern route. The first part of that journey lasted 17 hours and covered almost 80km. He visited 10 farms and recorded about 100,000 steps during the route.

After completing that stage, Turner travelled to the United Kingdom to collect his granddaughter Imogen, who was receiving treatment at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. He then returned to the Isle of Man to complete the remaining part of the walk.

On August 15, Turner reached Begoade Moar in Baldrine, the final farm on his itinerary, before heading back towards the creamery. Imogen had completed her treatment the previous day. She met her grandfather for the final section and walked hand in hand with him to the creamery.

The challenge had raised more than £3,600 for Alder Hey. A spokesperson for Isle of Man Creamery described the walk as “a fantastic achievement” and said the company was proud of Turner. The spokesperson also referred to the emotional sight of Turner and Imogen returning to the creamery together.
