Nestlé Exceeded Expectations: Q1 Sales Growth Accelerated to 2.8% Amid Price Increases

Swiss-based Nestlé, the world’s largest food and beverage producer, reported an organic revenue growth of 2.8% for the first quarter of 2025, surpassing analysts’ average forecast of 2.6%, according to the company’s quarterly report.

From January to March, Nestlé’s total revenue reached 22.6 billion Swiss francs ($27.33 billion), surpassing the figure for the same period in 2024 (22.09 billion francs). The main driver of this growth was an average price increase of 2.1% across products, while sales volume rose by 0.7%.

By region, North and South America delivered stable results, with revenue remaining flat at 8.6 billion francs. In Asia, Africa, and Oceania, revenue grew by 3.6% to 5.5 billion francs, while Europe saw a 2.5% increase to 4.4 billion francs.

Among product categories, the strongest performance came from the Nespresso division, which specializes in coffee and coffee machines—sales rose by 6.1% to 1.6 billion francs. Revenue from the Nestlé Health Science division also increased by 5.4%, reaching 1.6 billion francs. Sales of water and beverages grew by 3.9% to 0.8 billion francs.

The company reaffirmed its outlook for 2025, projecting organic revenue growth and profitability of no less than 16%. On Thursday morning, Nestlé’s shares rose by 0.2% on the Swiss stock exchange. Since the beginning of the year, the company’s market capitalization has increased by 16.7% to 224.7 billion francs, while the SMI index grew by only 1.8%.

Nestlé operates in 188 countries and owns a portfolio of more than 2,000 brands, including Nescafé, Maggi, KitKat, Purina, and Perrier. The company employs around 277,000 people worldwide.
