The first two deals on the supply of skimmed milk powder to Mongolia have been concluded at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange.
The buyer was a well-known Mongolian manufacturer of dairy and fermented milk products. The total volume of the trial purchase was 73 tons. United Measures Machinery, an accredited broker of BUTB in Mongolia, provided assistance in attracting the first Mongolian importer of Belarusian dairy products to the stock exchange.
"Until recently, only Belarusian sugar was exported to Mongolia using the exchange mechanism. In January - April of this year, over 3.7 thousand tons of white granulated sugar worth $2.3 million were sold to the market of this country. At the same time, in general, the demand for Belarusian-made goods in Mongolia is quite high and local companies are interested in regular purchases of sugar and other types of agricultural products through the exchange platform. In this regard, the start of sales of milk powder can be considered a landmark event in the development of the Belarusian-Mongolian stock exchange trade, especially considering that the expansion of the commodity nomenclature, as a rule, has a positive effect on the volume of exchange turnover and contributes to the growth of business activity of both domestic sellers and foreign buyers," the press service noted.
JSC Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was established in 2004. The first auction took place in June 2005. BUTB is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. The main function of the exchange is to assist Belarusian enterprises in exporting products and to help foreign companies enter the Belarusian market. Metal, timber, agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods of a wide range are sold on the exchange.
According to the BUTB, in January - April 2024, more than 32.3 thousand tons of dairy products worth $158.5 million were sold for export through exchange trading -0-
