Mexico: Campeche's Dairy Boom: 46 Million Liters Annually Lead Regional Growth
Campeche showcases a robust dairy industry with a production of 46 million liters annually, primarily from the central and southern sections of the state. This thriving industry not only generates significant revenue but also provides support to thousands of beneficiaries. The state’s focus is on expanding Liconsa's coverage, illustrating the strategic importance of the sector.

In April alone, 328,232 liters were collected in three key centers, translating into 2,445,230.70 pesos for local producers. Five municipalities dominate the dairy landscape, accounting for 85.3% of production. Champotón leads with 25.3%, followed by Campeche at 18.9%, Escárcega at 16.1%, Candelaria at 13%, and Carmen at 12%. Significant contributions come from collecting centers in Yohaltún, Candelaria, and Escárcega, with each center serving both direct and indirect beneficiaries. Specifically, Yohaltún is pivotal, producing 199,911 liters at a value of 1,465,310.85 pesos. Liconsa's efforts are noteworthy, as the company aims to provide high-quality milk rivaling top national brands.

In 2025, Liconsa seeks to extend its reach to 53,527 beneficiaries across marginalized regions, underscoring a strong commitment to social equity.
