Lakeland Dairies Drops July Milk Price
Lakeland Dairies Board has decided the price for milk for July, setting it at 48.25c/l (3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein) in the Republic of Ireland, which includes a 0.5c/l Sustainability Incentive Payment. This marks a reduction of 1 cpl from June's price. Meanwhile, Northern Ireland sees a price set at 39.3p/litre, also including the Sustainability Incentive Payment, representing a 1 ppl reduction from June. A company spokesperson noted, "market prices have declined over the last three to four weeks," attributing the trend to an increase in global milk supplies and softening demand due to ongoing trade and geopolitical tensions. They stressed that the company will "continue to monitor the markets and will endeavor to support our farmers with the best milk price possible in line with market conditions."
