Lactalis Introduces New Truffle Flavored Brie for Festive Market
Lactalis UK & Ireland has unveiled the Président Spreadable Creamy Brie with Truffle as a strategic move to enhance its presence in the festive cheese market. The launch comes in the wake of a significant 12.4% increase in value and a 4% boost in volume for Président Brie in December 2024 compared to the previous year. Similarly, Président Camembert experienced an 18.6% rise in value and a 22% increase in volume during the same period.
Héloise Le Norcy-Trott, group marketing director for Lactalis UK & Ireland, highlighted the importance of Brie and Camembert in British Christmas celebrations, noting their versatility and indulgent qualities. She emphasized the growing popularity of truffle as a festive flavor trend, particularly during the Christmas season.
The company also spotlighted Galbani Dolcelatte, a milder blue cheese, as a product to watch during the festive period. This product expansion follows Lactalis' recent acquisition of New Zealand-based dairy co-operative Fonterra, valued at approximately £2.4 billion in sales, signaling its intent to expand its global dairy operations.
With operations in over 50 markets and a workforce of about 85,000 people, Lactalis continues to strengthen its portfolio, which includes well-known brands like Galbani, Parmalat, and Leerdammer.
