La Serenísima Achieves 100% Renewable Energy Use in All Plants
La Serenísima has announced a significant milestone in the dairy industry by achieving the use of 100% renewable energy across its nine industrial plants. This transition, which began as an environmental strategy in 2020, allowed the company to increase its clean energy consumption from 28% to a full renewable matrix by 2026, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
The company's renewable energy infrastructure is supported by a mix of solar, wind, and hydroelectric sources. Key agreements include a solar energy supply from MSU Green Energy in Chaco and wind energy from Pampa Energía in Bahía Blanca, complemented by hydroelectric power from the El Chocón–Arroyito complex.
These energy sources support major production hubs of La Serenísima, such as the Pascual Mastellone complex in General Rodríguez and the Victorio Mastellone complex in Trenque Lauquen, along with a strategic plant in Villa María, Córdoba. According to Juan Alonso, the Head of Environmental Management and Control, this progress is part of a long-term plan to combat climate change.
